A little bit about marnie

I'm not a fan of getting my picture taken.  Maybe that is where I truly got my start in photography, hiding behind the camera.

As a third generation photographer it could also be in my genes.  My grandpa owned Dick Palen Photography in Edina, Minnesota and my great grandfather owned McCollum's Photography in Albany, Georgia.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oregon (Go Ducks!) I took a job opportunity in Breckenridge, Colorado.  Two ski seasons later, I decided to refine my photography skills in my home state of Minnesota.  All my education had been in the dark room so there was LOTS to learn as digital photography took over.

The last fifteen years have been dedicated to the growth of MJFotography on so many levels.  Some days I feel that I've learned more about what not to do but that is still knowledge.  With no shortage of things to learn there will only be bigger and better things to come for MJFotography!

I'd love to learn more about you!
